MINIMUM WAGE INCREASES TO $7.25 PER HOUR ON JULY 24
July 22, 2009 The final phase of the federal minimum wage increase, which was spread over three years, takes effect Friday, July 24. Beginning with work performed after 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 24, the federal minimum wage increases to $7.25 per hour.
If the pay period for your business encompasses the week prior to July 24 as well as the week after, the new minimum hourly rate only applies to work from the effective date forward.
