Recently, the Auburn Chamber the city of Auburn partnered together to bring SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, to East Alabama. SCORE is a nonprofit that provides free, confidential advice to small businesses. Additionally, they host local and national mentorship networks, offer small businesses educational resources, webinars and workshops, and provide an outreach opportunity for experienced professionals to volunteer.

This resource is available to those thinking of starting a business, growing their business or who have questions about managing their business. Interested business owners can meet with one or several mentors via email, video chat or face-to-face. To find a mentor, click here.

Twice a year, SCORE produces a research series titled “The Megaphone of Main Street.” The data is used to understand what issues are impacting small businesses owners and what will help. This fall, SCORE will be focusing on the impact of COVID-19 on small businesses.

As SCORE offers many free resources for businesses, we encourage businesses to take their survey so they can adjust their programming to the needs of the business community, as well as report COVID-19 impacts. The survey should take 7-10 minutes and closes Friday, August 21.
