Gov. Kay Ivey has issued her 19th supplemental emergency proclamation that contains an amended Safer at Home Order.
What’s new with the Safer at Home Order?
- Emergency occupancy rates have been removed for retailers, gyms and fitness centers and entertainment venues
- An exception to social distancing rules will be allowed for many businesses, including barbershops, hair salons, gyms and restaurants if people are wearing masks and separated by an “impermeable” barrier
Many restrictions that have been in place for several months, like wearing masks in public when interacting with others from another household within a 6-foot distance, are still in effect.
The Safer at Home Order will remain in place until Friday, December 11, at 5 p.m.
