Job Description

Know the Community is a well-established newcomer program based out of Montgomery, Alabama. With over 12 years of development, this unique business model is coming to Lee County to help local businesses connect with an affluent and targeted audience. The success of this business is dependent on a Manager who is focused on building business relationships that are growing as the community grows. Our unique business plan helps businesses connect before, during and after a newcomer moves into the area through both print, digital and events.

Pay structure:

• Secure local business sponsors looking to expand their client base by reaching new families.
• Manage distribution of magazines.
• Manage community ambassadors.
• Develop strong relationships through community and chamber networking events.
• Give great customer care.
• Utilize company CRM and financial software.
• Respond to inquiries, research and resolve problems related to advertising transactions.
• Manage social media.
• Publish weekly eNewcomer newsletter.
• Participate in review and proofing of the Know the Community magazine guides.
• Work closely with the exploreMedia corporate team to ensure the success of the product and client promotion.

Required Skills

• Ability to work alongside the publisher and the exploreMedia team members.
• Viewed as a community leader and influencer.
• Ability to manage the contract workers: community ambassadors & distribution folks.
• Ability to persuade business decision-makers.
• Ability to discover cost-effective solutions and resources to minimize cost & elevate quality.
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software – Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Possess good project management skills and creativity.
• Be a spokesperson at appropriate/selected events in the community for exploreMedia and its affiliated products and publications.
• Ability to make decisions that balance the needs of the readers, writers and advertisers.
